Canstruction 2014 | Have you ever seen a Canstruction®? JUST ONE CAN, CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
These Canstructions are ultimately amazing works of edible art! There are strict rules to building these monument of food; no glue, no strings or tape allowed, and other details.
Furthermore, they come in all shapes, sizes, and configurations, enough to stir your palatable imagination! Additionally, each year a host of architect and engineering firms participate to compete for the best Canstruction®. Moreover, the designs always make me go, “how’d they do that?”.
But they all resonate with one clear message. Hunger exists.
After witnessing what goes into each Canstruction® and watching the teams build one can at at time. It’s clear that just one can, can make a difference!
Some teams have competed for ten years, but even if your a novice to Canstruction®, everyone is a winner.
This charity turns a food campaign into a unique. Fun and interactive competition as they vie for titles like, ‘Best Use of Labels’, ‘Structural Integrity’, or ‘Best Meal’. You can interact and post your vote for the “Peoples Choice Award” until November 20th.
Furthermore, as each team maps out what to design, it challenges what they know best; a structure that has balance – with a play on a ‘well-balanced meal’ and architectural ingenuity. Additionally, some of these Canstruction 2014 ® will blow your mind!
The reward comes with knowing a Canstruction 2014 ® made with two thousand or more cans of food, will all go to a local hunger relief organization.
Canstruction has been going on since 1993, of which for nine years, I was their mascot called, ‘Canna Vanna’. Now that’s a role! I have watched it grow into a worldwide charity event and I am very happy that it has finally made it to my hometown of Moncton, New Brunswick.
